Which summer camp is right for my child?

Sugar Creek runs 17 summer camp programs for grades 1–12. All of them are coed overnight camps, and all of them include daily Bible study, devotions, and campfire worship alongside the adventure.

Week-long camps
Our signature experience: six days at camp with a cabin group, a counselor, and a full week of activities. Programs are grouped by school level, and each one has its own personality.

  • Pathfinders — an entry point into week-long camp for elementary campers
  • Discoverers — classic camp for elementary-age kids
  • Wagoneers (entering grades 6–7) — a week living like pioneers on the Oregon Trail. Campers build and cook over fires, ride horses, shoot at the archery range, swim, and take part in daily Bible study and campfire worship.
  • Settlers — two days at camp, then three days and two nights canoeing and camping along the Mississippi River
  • Riverboaters — a river-focused adventure program
  • Voyageurs — an older-camper wilderness experience
  • Pedal and Paddle — biking and paddling through the Driftless

Horse camps
  • Horse Ranch — campers ride multiple times, help with grooming and tacking up, and take an overnight adventure with the horses on top of the bluff
  • Junior Wranglers — for campers ready to go deeper: assisting on trail rides, learning tack care, horsemanship, safety, and general horse care

Confirmation camps

Campers can come with their confirmation class or register on their own. Pastors and youth workers get 1½ hours of instruction time daily, and the rest of the week is canoeing, horseback riding, swimming, and camp.

Short sessions and day camps
If a full week is too much for a first-timer, see our Short Sessions article. We also run on-site and congregational day camps, plus family camps for all ages.

Not sure? Call (608) 734-3113 or email [email protected] and tell us about your kid. We'll point you to the right week.
